Trust Bank Ltd was incorporated on July 3rd, 1997 to take over the business of Meridien Biao Bank Gambia and began operations on October 1st the same year. The bank is engaged in Commercial, Corporate & International banking. The ownership structure of the bank is quite diverse. The major shareholders of the bank are Social Security & Housing Finance Corporation, DataBank of Ghana, and other prominent Gambian institutions and individuals.

The bank was listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange in November 2002, the first cross border listing in the sub-Region. During the past 14 years, the Banker Magazine, subsidiary of the Business Financial Times in the UK awarded Trust Bank Ltd ‘The Bank of the Year’ for three consecutive years i.e. 2003, 2004, 2005, and also in 2010, 2011 and 2016.

In addition, Global Finance awarded Trust Bank Ltd “The Best Emerging Market Bank” for six consecutive years i.e. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.  The bank also received awards from the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry as ‘the Bank of the Year’ in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009, and 2010. Since the incorporation of Trust Bank Ltd, branches have been opened across the length and breadth of the Gambia tapping the potential of the two Municipalities (Banjul and Kanifing) and the four regions of (West Coast Region, Lower River Region, North Bank Region, Central River Region, and Upper River Region).

At Trust Bank, we abound in high caliber staff which today stands at 348 spread across our 18 locations countrywide. We provide a wide range of products and services for the benefit of our customers. From the traditional current and saving accounts, Trust Bank now offers specialized and customized products and services.

Trust Bank has taken advantage of an enhanced information technology platform to introduce a range of e-banking products and services. These include internet banking, bill payments, Mobile Banking, ATM’s. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility, Trust Bank contributes immensely to the Nation’s Socio-Economic Development in areas of Education, Health, Sports, and Disaster Relief.

The bank annually sponsors students that have excelled in the Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examination (GABECE). The bank also adopts the Maternity Ward at the Farafenni Hospital, the EFSTH Sanatorium, Leman Street Clinic and psychasthenic hospital commonly know as Tanka-tanka amongst others.
