Fraudsters frequently use tactics such as fake phone calls, texts and emails to obtain your information, perhaps claiming to represent Trust Bank. To maintain your personal and financial security, be sure to be on your guard for:

Fake phone calls

A telephone call from someone claiming to represent Trust Bank, intended to:
  • Persuade you into sending your money to another account

  • Handing over cash

  • Requesting your online banking detsils

  • Requesting your confidential personal detail

Suspicious emails

These are emails which look like they are from Trust Bank, designed to trick you into providing personal and financial information.

Suspicious text messages

A text message which looks like it is from Trust Bank designed to trick you into providing personal and financial information by calling a number or clicking a link.

Remember

  • Be wary of unsolicited request for your personal information such as usernames, passwords or bank details.

  • If a phone call looks suspicious, don’t be afraid to hang up and call us on 4225291 or 4225777/8/9.

  • If an email looks suspicious, do not click on links or download documents.

  • If you receive a suspicious text message claiming to be from us, call us on the numbers given to check before acting on it.

Trust Bank will never call you to request your online banking details, reset your PIN, withdraw or transfer money.

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM FRAUD

Some safety tips to avoid to protect your account from scammers:

  • Protect your devices. Your devices can store a lot of personal data so you need to keep them safe from scammers
  • Choose strong passwords and PINs that are hard to guess
  • Protect your passwords and PINs. Do not share them with anyone
  • Change your passwords and PINs periodically
  • Do not share your ATM card details with anyone
  • Check your account activity regularly and if you notice anything unusual contact us right away
  • Do not give out account info over the phone or through email
  • Avoid logging into your accounts on public WIFI
  • Avoid logging into your accounts from shared computers
  • Scam messages sent by email and text often include a link to a fake site or a number to call. Trust Bank Ltd will never send you a message with a link that asks you to log on or to provide your banking details. If you get a message like this, don’t reply and don’t click; delete immediately
  • Access our services only through our website. Look for the closed padlock image and double check the website address to ensure you’re on the correct site.
  • Transaction alerts are sent to all customers via SMS and/or email. In case you receive a transaction message that is not initiated by you, please notify the bank immediately. Please also notify the bank if you are not receiving messages of your transactions.
