Trust Bank has generously donated items valued at two hundred thousand dalasi to enhance the maternity ward facilities at Bwiam General Hospital. This charitable act is part of the bank’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, dedicated to supporting healthcare institutions and delivery systems across the country.
Njilan Senghore, the Managing Director of Trust Bank, expressed the institution’s commitment to giving back to society in a methodical and sustainable manner, aiming to maximize positive impacts on beneficiaries. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Senghore highlighted Trust Bank’s longstanding involvement in the health sector, spanning over two decades.
“It is a continuation of a journey that started over two decades ago with the strategic objective of complementing governments’ efforts to ensure that no mother should die while giving birth, that no child should die at birth from preventable causes, and that quality health services will be accessible to our various communities.
The managing director conveyed optimism about achieving the ultimate objective of providing expert and advanced medical care tailored to individual patient needs. She emphasized the collaborative accomplishments of the Gambian people despite challenges, expressing confidence in reaching the shared goal.
“Since then, records have shown that we have achieved a lot together as Gambians, albeit with all the challenges along the way, and I am optimistic that soon we shall achieve our ultimate objective by delivering expert and advanced medical care that is tailored to each individual patient’s needs,” she said.
The MD further stated that the donation will have an impact on the maternity ward of the hospital.
Senghore elaborated on the anticipated impact of the donation on the hospital’s maternity ward, stating, “We firmly believe that this donation will have an impact on the maternity ward and the lives of countless mothers and newborns in this community. It is our hope that our contribution will inspire other organizations and individuals to join us in our mission to improve healthcare services for everyone.”
