In a generous act of corporate social responsibility, Trust Bank extended a helping hand to Basse District Hospital on Wednesday with a donation totaling D200,000 worth of requested items. The contribution, aimed at supporting healthcare facilities across the nation, is part of the bank’s annual commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Njilan Senghore, the Managing Director of Trust Bank, emphasized the institution’s dedication to the well-being and health of citizens during the presentation ceremony. She highlighted the bank’s strategic approach, which involves a meticulous need-gap analysis with target hospitals to identify areas requiring the most support. This ensures that Trust Bank’s contributions are both relevant and impactful.
“Today, we gather to celebrate another significant moment in our journey towards making a positive impact on society. This donation of D200,000 worth of requested items represents our unwavering commitment to the well-being and health of our fellow citizens. Our aim is to ‘give back’ in a structured and sustainable manner that ensures the greatest positive impact on the beneficiaries. To achieve this, we carry out a need-gap analysis with target hospitals to be able to accurately measure areas where our support is most needed. This enables us to deliver support that is relevant and impactful to the hospitals.
This recent donation to Basse District Hospital marks the continuation of a seven-year journey initiated by Trust Bank. Senghore emphasized that this ongoing partnership aligns with the bank’s core corporate social responsibility program, aiming to complement governmental efforts in promoting quality healthcare.
“This donation today is a continuation of a journey that started with Basse District Hospital about 7 years ago with the strategic objective of complementing governments’ efforts in the promotion of quality health care. This is a cause that is close to our hearts, as it constitutes one of the main pillars on which our corporate social responsibility program is built,” she said.
Expressing gratitude, Baatu Camara, the officer in charge of Basse District Hospital, acknowledged Trust Bank’s commitment. He conveyed confidence that the donated items, which include a printing and scanning machine, detergents, dustbins, dispensers, Omron blood pressure machines, chairs, and televisions, will significantly enhance the lives of both patients and staff, easing their daily operations.
Kelepha Kandeh, the representative of the regional health directorate, extended thanks to Trust Bank for their generous gesture. He assured the bank that the items would be effectively utilized to benefit the hospital and its stakeholders. The act of benevolence from Trust Bank stands as a testament to their commitment to fostering positive change within the communities they serve.
