Trust Bank on Friday made a significant donation of essential medical items, valued at D200,000, to the maternal ward of Bwiam General Hospital in The Gambia’s West Coast Region. The contribution included cooking materials, electronic equipment such as printers, detergents, and other vital supplies aimed at improving maternal healthcare in the region.
This initiative is part of Trust Bank’s annual corporate social responsibility program, which prioritizes support for the healthcare sector across the country.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Omar Mboob, Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank, highlighted the importance of maternal health in the community. He remarked that this year’s donation marked the fifth year of their partnership with Bwiam General Hospital.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bwiam General Hospital expressed profound gratitude to Trust Bank for their generous gesture, noting that the donated items would greatly support the hospital’s efforts to improve the health and well-being of women and children.
Isatou Faal, Officer in Charge of the Maternal Ward, also extended her appreciation and assured the bank that the items would be utilized effectively to address the needs of patients.
Trust Bank has consistently demonstrated its commitment to improving healthcare nationwide. Over the years, the bank has made donations to various health facilities, including Tanka Tanka Mental Health Hospital, Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Kanifing General Hospital, and Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital. Their outreach extends beyond the Greater Banjul Area to provincial hospitals such as Essau District Hospital, Farafenni General Hospital, Basse District Hospital, Bansang General Hospital, and Soma District Hospital. This year’s donation cycle concluded with their support for Bwiam General Hospital.
