On Friday, December 9, 2022, the management of Trust Bank presented medical and sundry items worth over two hundred thousand dalasis (D200,000.00) to the Bwiam General Hospital as part of the bank’s annual corporate social responsibility contribution to healthcare facilities across the country.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank, Omar Mboob, said the decision to donate to a hospital responsible for providing care to the sick and vulnerable is a laudable course.
“Today, we all take pride in the fact that our donations are making quite a difference in uplifting the standards of health care and delivery in this hospital. Having a baby should be a time of great joy and hope. I am sure that with our continued partnership, we can make that a reality for most households.
“Giving is core to our culture at Trust Bank. In October of this year, Trust Bank celebrated its 25th anniversary, and we spoke internally about the activities we wanted to celebrate to mark this anniversary. CRS was a popular request from everyone inside the Trust Bank family. “In that light, we are immensely proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary with patients and staff while we acknowledge, through our donation, the role that the Bwiam General Hospital plays in the lives of many Gambians across the Foni and the West Coast Region,” Mr. Mboob said.
The deputy CEO of Bwiam General Hospital, Alieu Sonko, thanked Trust Bank for the kind gesture extended to the hospital.
The National Assembly member for Foni Kansala, Hon. Almameh Gibba, also thanked Trust Bank for the kind gesture and assured the gathering that their donation to the hospital will not be a waste.
The items donated to the Bwiam General Hospital include two standard delivery beds, three blood pressure machines, three patient screens, and laboratory reagents, among other things.
