The management of Trust Bank Gambia today presented items to Bundung Maternal and Child Hospital worth over $250,000 as part of the bank’s annual presentation to health facilities across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank Gambia said, “The choice of donating to the only maternal and child hospital in The Gambia, responsible for providing care for women during pregnancy and childbirth as well as for newborn infants, is most appropriate.”
“The presentation today does not only include medical supplies but also the love and generosity of the true bank family to the people of Kanifing Municipality.” “At Trust Bank, our corporate social responsibility program is grounded on the principles of sharing and caring, and this donation proves once again that those are not mere words to us but a true demonstration of what we present.” Mboob said
He added that the partnership with Bundung Maternal and Child Hospital is new, but they are confident that it is the first of many more to come.
“Our strategic objective is to complement the government’s efforts in maternal health care.” “We are aware that the government of The Gambia is committed to reducing our high maternal mortality rates and seeks to do so through collaboration and partnerships with all stakeholders.” Mboob highlighted
Dr Mamady Cham, CEO of Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital, thanked the management of Trust Bank Gambia for their trust and kind gesture.
The Representative of the Regional Director of Health, Fatoumatta Dibba, said maternal and child health are top priorities on the agenda of the ministry of health.
“You are bringing items that will help us improve the quality of care,” she said.
