Trust Bank Ltd donated seven (7) desktop computers to the National Council for Arts and Culture on Thursday 23rd September 2021 in a colorful ceremony held at the NCAC complex in Banjul.
In her keynote address the Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank Ltd ably represented by Sheikh Trawally Head of Sales and Public Relations offer of the bank has this to say
We are gathered here today to witness the presentation of seven desktop computers by Trust Bank Ltd to support the work of the research team of the National Centre for Arts & Culture.
I believe that the choice of donating to the National Council for Arts & Culture (NCAC) is most appropriate. NCAC is responsible for fostering, developing, and improving the knowledge, understanding, and practice of our Arts & Culture and their presentation, execution, and exhibition.
Arts and culture are a key part of our heritage. It helps us to know and celebrate our diversity and also brings us closer as a people. That is why as a proudly Gambian Bank and a stakeholder, Trust Bank Ltd became a natural partner to NCAC and we reiterate our commitment to further support the development and promotion of the sector in the Gambia.
The Arts and Culture sector has grown beyond expressing our social values and building cultural bridges. It has now become a fundamental component in educational and economic development.
Our partnership with NCAC is grounded on the strategic objective of creating opportunities for people who enjoy arts & culture to choose from a wide array of disciplines in both the formal and informal settings in order to make a decent living for themselves.
Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to remind all of us here that this presentation today, is just a continuation of the work that Trust Bank has been doing for NCAC for the greater good of the people of The Gambia.
It is a continuation of a journey that started over a decade ago with the strategic objective of complimenting the Center’s efforts in ensuring the advancement, promotion, and preservation of our cultural heritage and that quality and credible research materials are accessible to all Gambians.
From a business development perspective, NCAC can provide incubators for creative talents, giving people at the beginning of their creative careers opportunities to showcase their creations or perform while being exposed to the best of existing talents. This generates exports, ultimately resulting in a flow of income to the Gambia.
Ladies and gentlemen, by providing business support, mentoring and opportunities to network for new commercial creative enterprises, NCAC will make a vital contribution to the development of this sector. We do hope that these will also support your policy development and the scoping of future strategic partnerships to grow private investment in this sector.
Ladies and gentlemen allow me to acknowledge and applaud the incredible work that NCAC is doing in the promotion of Arts & Culture. We at Trust Bank have been immensely encouraged and would like to use this opportunity to assure you of our firm commitment to further strengthen and expand the scope of our partnership for the benefit of the people of the Gambia.
Those are the principles that Trust Bank Ltd stands for and we enjoin all the stakeholders to embrace them through collaborative efforts with National Council for Arts and Culture.
Today we celebrate the ingenuity of NCAC. While we acknowledge that your achievements are built mainly on the bedrock of public funding, we at Trust Bank are delighted that our partnership and donations over the years have added immense value to the work that you do.
The event was attended by the Chairman NCAC Mr. Oreme Joiner, Director General of NCAC Mr. Hassoum Ceesay, staff of NCAC and Alex Alasan Gomez Head of Marketing & Business Development at Trust Bank Ltd and staff from the Trust Bank Ltd.
